I noticed theres a tiny fugue! I love Shosta's preludes and fugues. Which piece is this inspired from?

Midnights-Ocean responds:

Thank you! I love his works too. It's the first part of this: https://youtu.be/UEPiqK-jqTc I sped it up, edited, looped and cut a few things. I think I also had to change maybe one or 2 notes to make it work in the context I put it in.

The original is a breath taking piece. I do not do it justice but I want to rekindle interest in these old pieces of music. They are unparalleled.

Nice melody and chord progression, but the drop was a little too noisy, all the sounds were fighting each other and I couldn't focus on any one at a time, so it turned out pretty messy.

ItzCorkscrew responds:

I know right this was sort of "experimental"

DUDE THIS IS SO GOOD WHAT
Straight off the bat the first thing that caught my attention was the chord progression. It was certainly unconventional, yet it worked well. I think you really outdid yourself in the drop. Lots of bass and a rather heavy drop, with great diversity of sounds. Though I think the highs could have been brought out more.

ItzCorkscrew responds:

I'm so glad you liked it tho :)

Mixed feelings about this.
I realised I haven't commented about Bellatrix (whoops) but I feel the same about this and that. While the mastering is very clean, the issue I have with these two tracks is that they are boring. The drops are basically chords, all layers in unison, so I really just hear 2 different things at once. It would be nice if you threw in more "background" layers and effects to make the mix more interesting.

ItzCorkscrew responds:

I know I haven't done my best with this two songs, but I am sure the next songs will be better (and hope others like you will appreciate more)

Very interesting one, this one almost felt like a mixture of your older styles and a new experimental style, with the piano melody and the drop which is a really new kind of sound from you. I won't really call this trap because it is a little too fast and bouncy, but still a good listen. It shows that you are really trying new styles.

ItzCorkscrew responds:

Yeah that's my goal for the moment, I hope trying new styles will help me in my producer """""career"""""

This was quite a fun listen! Really liked the intro and how the layers added up, the piano chords and the little synth melody blended quite well. The pitch change in the buildup to the second drop is a nice touch. In the drop it felt like there was too much going on, the mastering got a little rough there as well

ItzCorkscrew responds:

Thank u <3

Sorry but I don't really like this one. First of all I like the drums, but those high frequencies in the drop are deafening. There were almost no mid frequencies to balance it out. The slower tempo also kinda takes away the energetic feeling I was aiming for.

Astedroid responds:

Yeah.
Thinking for that, this wasn't that good XD

YES!!!!! Those drums really give this song its proper mood, the excited adventure-y feel. And you made the mastering really neat so I really like it. As a personal preference I would have preferred it if there were more orchestral instruments than just the piano, nonetheless I still think the mood is there and well brought out. Nice!

ItzCorkscrew responds:

I am not a fan of the orchestral instruments, I never properly use them, so instead of messing up everything I used only electronic sounds. Glad you like it, your melodies are just so good for drum and bass songs <3 keep up the amazing work!

Well idk what to say but...this isn't your best. There are nice bits, but definitely also some weird bits. I noticed you were experimenting with a lot of different sounds in this one and some of the just didn't fit in well imo. And that part at 2:45 felt a little uncomfortable. Nonetheless, you did nail the bouncy feeling.

ItzCorkscrew responds:

Oh, I didn't expect you wouldn't like this, I was so happy when I did this, I expected you will like this...nevermind, gotta do better next time

Fantastic. Great mastering, great melodies, great variation (its 6 minutes long yet doesn't get tiresome at all). Makes me wonder if theres even any other hardstyle song on NG that can match this standard.

I'm an aspiring musician who produces electronic music in my free time! I do not specialise in any particular genre, I am willing to experiment and try out different styles. I do prefer some orchestral elements mixed in my music though.
